What Is Copied From a Shared Dive
When you use Copy to my dives, DiveHub fills in only what your buddy chose to share with you. The sharing level is checked by DiveHub, not just hidden on screen.
Fields by sharing level
| Detail | Date and site | Dive profile | Full details |
|---|---|---|---|
| Date, start time, end time and time zone | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| Dive site | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| Maximum depth | No | Yes | Yes |
| Dive profile | No | Yes | Yes |
| Notes | No | No | Yes |
| Gas (oxygen mix, tank size, pressures) | No | No | Yes |
| Weight | No | No | Yes |
A detail that was not shared is left blank for you to fill in.
Never copied
Whatever the sharing level, DiveHub never copies:
- the other diver's buddies and sharing settings
- their equipment
- imported file references and the devices they came from
- anything that links the dive to the other diver's account
The duration is worked out again from your own start and end times.
Dive sites
A dive at a registered dive site is copied as that site. If your buddy used their own custom site, its name, location and country are copied as a custom site for you to edit.
What DiveHub remembers
DiveHub records on your account that you saved a copy of the shared dive. This is how it can mark the dive Copied and link you to your copy. It is not stored on your buddy's dive, and it stays even if you later delete your copy.
