Copy a Dive Your Buddy Shared With You
2026-10-15 · DiveHub Team

You and your buddy did the same dive. Same site, same day, same water. Until now, you each had to type it into your own log.
Not any more. If a buddy has shared a dive with you, you can now copy it into your own dive log with a single click.
How it works
- Open Shared dives from the Dives menu.
- Select the dive your buddy shared with you.
- Choose Copy to my dives.
DiveHub opens the Create dive page with everything your buddy shared already filled in. Change whatever you like, such as your own notes, your own gas and weights, or a different end time. Then save. Nothing is added to your log until you do.
You see what your buddy chose to share
Your buddy decides how much of a dive to share: Date and site, Dive profile or Full details. A copy never includes more than that.
- Date and site fills in the date, times, time zone and dive site.
- Dive profile adds the dive profile and the maximum depth.
- Full details also fills in the notes, gas and weights.
Your buddy's buddy list, equipment and imported files are never copied, whatever the level.
Your copy is your own
The saved dive belongs to you. You can edit it, delete it, and share it with your own buddies like any dive you logged yourself. If your buddy later edits, unshares or deletes their dive, your copy stays exactly as you saved it. Saving a copy never changes your buddy's dive.
No accidental duplicates
DiveHub remembers which shared dives you have already copied. They are marked Copied in your Shared dives list, and if you choose to copy one again, DiveHub asks you to confirm first.
Read the guides
